An Amazing Year

In August I just celebrated my 1 year Anniversary since opening up Seattle Chef Joe, and let me tell you folks what a crazy year it has been. Here are some of the many highlights:

In the first month of officially opening my doors (so to speak), I was not only trying to figure out my plan for the new company that would mix culinary freedom with strengthening the surrounding community, but I was also recovering from dual wrist surgeries. Have I said that I love a challenge?

I didn’t really plan on falling into the niche of specialized diet cooking, but out of my desire to help people and challenge myself it just seem to find me. Some of my clients have been diagnosed with some interesting issues, some are looking for healthier alternatives, and others just want flavor packed plates. I have the pleasure of cooking the entire range whether it is Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Paleo, or Decadent. If we can dream then I will find a way to cook it!

We have been able to support many local schools, and other organizations like Orphans Africa and the Washington School Art Conference.

During the month of December 2014 we were able to provide 4 New Coats for the Operation Warm/Coats for Kids Campaign. We donated 1 new US made coat for every catering done that month to Operation Warm which supplies underprivileged kids with warm winter coats.

Closing out my first year I was Honored by a Website Called Thumbtack to be Ranked #1 Professional Home Chef (Personal Chef/Caterer). Not bad for the first year on the block!

Going into next year we are excited to be focused on Community Driven Events. In October, Seattle Chef Joe will be taking over the Largest of the Seattle Ronald McDonald Houses to feed the families for a night, and we hope to do this several times throughout the next year. We will also continue our support of Operation Warm this year, and donate 1 new US made Coat for every catering that we do during the month of December 2015.

Seattle Chef Joe is also planning some Traveling Chef Dates, hopefully coming to a city near you. If you or someone you know may be interested, just let us know.

And finally, we are always on the search for the best Personal Chefs to add to the Seattle Chef Umbrella, as well as Clients to match them up to. Whether you know a chef or a potential client, feel free to send us a line!

Thank you all for an amazing year!
